When I try to submit my results from PcMark05, I get this info displayed:
Unfortunately your benchmark result submission could not be processed.

* 3DMark2001 SE, PCMark 2002 and PCMark04 Online Support has been retired. See our current product catalog for replacement benchmarks.
Why????????????????????

This is an error on our part. PCMark 05 should definitely work.

I will alert our code guys and they'll sort this out ASAP. Please try submitting again on Monday.

Can you confirm that this issue is now solved for you? Any intermittent issues should be now resolved at our end and we cannot reproduce this.

Problem still exists. I thought you were going to fix this. Here is what the webpage displays when I try to submit my results:

Okay, we have to get to the bottom of this. Could you provide me the following details:

* exact time you tried viewing/submitting results (specify timezone)
* if possible, the ip address you submitted from (http://www.whatismyip.com will show your IP)
* Browser you are using
* The URL that shows on your browser bar when the error is displayed
* What (if any) security software you have that could be filtering/altering web traffic (Kaspersky, AVG, Norton etc..)

This could help us to finally figure out why some people are still getting this issue.

Also, are you sure that you have PCMark05 version 1.2.0? And if not, what version are you using?

First off, while this situation is pissing me off, you are not. In fact, I thank you for your attitude. Also, I will do whatever I can to help resolve this matter, more so if others are going through the same thing as I am. Alright then, let's tey to fix this!

My most recent attempt was on Nov 30, 2010 at 7:10 A.M
I.P. is 99.229.152.220
Firefox 3.6.12
http://3dmark.com/deprecated
Norton 360 Version: 4.3.0.5

F.Y.I : I turned off Norton and received the same issue.
Also, I modified the firewall rules from auto to allow, same result.

Thanks for the detail, we have found some veeeery puzzling log entries and the main code guy is digging up the answer to the "WTF?"...

The version of PCMark05 used would still be very useful information. To find out PCmark05 version, right click anywhere in the user interface and select "about".

Thanks for all this information. It has uncovered a hairy monster of a bug in the system that seems to happen only in some cases - most often if you use outdated benchmark version (in such cases it should say so, but instead it ends up on wrong page) but apparently, as in your case, also rarely with the latest version.

We are considering options as to how to tackle it and logging more data - this may take more than a few days to ultimately solve but we're working on it.

If you have constantly tried to submit the same (saved) result, you could try running the benchmark again and seeing if it happens again with a fresh run - current theory is that with the latest version this should happen only very rarely but if it happens, re-submitting the same result file will always get the same result.

Your continued efforts to solve this problem are a fair effort. However, each attempt to submit results are always a fresh run, I've never even tried to submit a saved result, didn't know I could do that. I will try to submit a saved result and see if I get the same error.

Thanks for the update.

Same error when I try to submit a saved benchmark. Keep trying at your end and let me know if I can help by re-submitting either a saved or fresh benchmark.

Thanks.

Thanks but this fact that it happens both with fresh runs and re-submitting saved result already helps. Only missing piece of info I can think of is this; What is your operating system and service pack?

Windows XP, service pack 3, with all the updates Microsoft offers. FYI all my programs are both completely legal and up to date.

If this helps at all, I also have 3DMark06 which submits without any issues.

Yes, we know (we looked through the logs by your IP and noticed that) - but thanks for pointing it out. In this case I don't think it is a factor, but every little bit could be useful.

We have updated the error handling a bit (should go live soon), so at least the error should no longer be completely misleading. This is a temporary solution until a permanent fix is devised.

This issue should be fixed now.

Our new server middleware is more picky about the result submission protocol and was rejecting some but not all results from older benchmarks. I did some tweaking and it should accept the submissions now.

Thanks for your help ChesterMech. Can you verify that it's working for you now?

I tried to submit a saved benchmark and this is what came up:

Problem receiving your result

Error code: 4

Error message: Benchmark files are corrupted result is invalid

And I ended up with same with a fresh benchmark.

It might be that your benchmark installation is somehow corrupted. Can you send a result file where this happens to support@futuremark.com.

Just looking for an update, any new information on this issue? I e-mailed what you asked me to.

Not yet - looking into it as soon as Heikki has time.

In the meantime what you can try is completely uninstall PCMark05 and then reinstall it from a fresh downloaded full install to rule out any kind of corruption. The issue with that error code is that in English it means "Our system thinks your benchmark executable files are somehow corrupted and they do not pass hash check".

If you are still getting the same (Error Code: 4) with a freshly installed benchmark, do let us know.

Success!!!

The version I had previously installed was "PCMark05_v120_installer.exe", the version I downloaded today is "PCMark05_v120_1901.exe". I can now submit results.

Thanks for all your help.

Since the other installer was named differently than the official one and since the submits showed up as "corrupted binary", I would suggest a throughout malware scan of your computer... just in case. Depending on where you downloaded it, it could be tampered with.

(That, or it was an older build, I'm not 100% sure how exactly older PCMark05 installers are named)

But glad it got solved - it also helped us to solve a real issue at our end.
