Do you happen to have FRAPS running? Certain versions of FRAPS can cause this.

Alternatively, what software you have running in the background? And do you hapepn to have any virtual video drivers, for example with remote desktop applications or applications allowing viewing of windows desktop on Ipads etc.?

Is your video driver up to date? Any older driver than 310.90 can definitely cause crashes. We suggest using 313.95 or .96 betas.

Also steam screenshot functionality won't work because 3DMark disables the overlay to ensure accurate benchmarking.

I tried running the demo after seeing the product advertised on Steam, and after clicking to run all tests, it gave me this exact error listed above.

I do not have any form of screen recording programs functional at the present time. Nor any virtual video drivers.

Can you describe your hardware and are your video drivers up to date?

Well it seems i don't get this error anymore, but a different one now. I am able to run the first test, but Cloud Gate doesn't load.
As for specs, this might have the answer. http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/56425?

Radeon HD 3200 is very very low end card and while it might run cloud gate, we haven't tested it.

As a bare minimum, you need to update your video drivers. The ones you are using are quite old.

The old notebook is at least 3 years old and suffers from maaaany blue screens nowadays. It's been narrowed down to processor issues.
As for the video drivers, that's a little odd considering i updated them not too long ago.

3DMark will fail if you didn't update them this year.

Unstable hardware can also cause what you describe.

Well i will look into updating drivers again then. And just to clarify, you mean to say that my processor problems can cause this error or are you saying other problems may be around?

If your system is unstable in general, there is no guarantee what the benchmark does. It can stress the hardware pretty hard.

Since this is a laptop, can you say which exact make and model?

Also could you run DXDIAG on your system (type that in the search box and run it, save the results to a text file) and send it by email to info [at] futuremark.com

Include a link to this thread in the email.

Can you send DXDIAG file to info [at] futuremark.com

type "Dxdiag" in search box

Once progress bar completes, "save all information" and send the file by email, thank you.

Okay so it's probably 635M since the laptop is K75VJ

No known issues with this model. Close any background applications and try unticking "SystemInfo Hardware Monitoring" from help tab.
